SO. I finally watched Akira. It was terrible, I would not bother watching it again. Don’t get me wrong though, I only watched it because I got around to finishing the manga first. I loved the manga. I suppose I didn’t like the movie because since I read the manga first I actually noticed how torn apart and unexplained the plot was in the movie adaption. While most people saw the movie first.
Akira wasn’t even in the movie, he was god damn organs. ORGANS. The hell?! In the manga Akira was still inside the containment capsule intact, and had a major role in the story. Also they did not even have the significant event in which Tetsuo killed Yamagata infront of Kaneda, which set the tone for Kaneda’s rage and desire for revenge. Ugh. I’m sorry, the movie was bad.
